【畢業生訪談】台大研究生Andrew的宿霧MeRISE遊學經驗談

剛從中央大學畢業，即將進入台大研究所的學生Andrew，運用開學前的暑假期間，來到MeRISE上了4週的商用英語課程，想知道畢業生Andrew在MeRISE的英語學習經驗嗎？一起來看看他的經驗分享吧！

MeRISE: What’s your previous job? 你最近的職業是什麼？

Andrew: I just graduated from National Central University.

I will keep studying the Master degree in National Taiwan University. In the future, I would like to work in a bank.

我剛從國立中央大學畢業，接下來要到國立台灣大學繼續念研究所學位。未來，我希望自己能夠找到金融業的工作。

MeRISE:  Are you using English when you’re at school? 你之前在學校中會使用到英語嗎？

Andrew: When I study in Taiwan, we usually use English materials and sometimes we prepare our presentation in English. I think that I will need to communicate in English when I work in the future job.

當我在台灣的學校學習時，我們的課程經常使用原文書教材，並且需要用英語準備自己的課堂報告內容。未來，我想我也會需要在工作上用英語與他人溝通。

MeRISE: Why did you choose to study English abroad? 你為什麼選擇到國外學英語？

Andrew: I like to travel and I often need to use English during my travels. I also hope that after learning English, it can help me to complete my future work. So I am determined to learn English well.

我喜歡旅遊，也經常在我旅遊的過程中使用到英語。我也希望透過學習英語，對將來的工作有所幫助，所以我選擇出國學英語。

MeRISE: Why did you choose to go to the Filipino Language School? 為什麼你會選擇到菲律賓的語言學校學英語？

Andrew: There are the reasons:

a. Distance: Philippines is closer to Taiwan. So I can learn English with the shortest travel time.

b. Reasonable price: Filipino language schools are more cost-effective than other countries, and the Filipino teacher's accent is also a standard American accent.

c. Flexible Time: When I study in Philippine, I can choose the schedule by my own. It is flexible for student to decide how long will they stay.

以下是我選擇到念菲律賓語言學校的幾個原因：

a.距離：菲律賓離台灣相當近，所以我能用最短的路程出國學英語。

b.價格公道：菲律賓語言學校的學費比其他國家更划算，菲律賓教師的口音也是標準的美國口音。

c.時間彈性：當我在菲律賓學習時，我可以自己選擇想學習的時間，學生可以依照自己的需求，彈性調整決定要待多久。

MeRISE: Why do you choose to study at MeRISE English Academy? 為什麼你會選擇到MeRISE學英語

Andrew: I chose MeRISE because my travel agent recommended it. The agent mentioned that the course of MeRISE is focusing on Business English, which is exactly I would like to learn. In addition, the learning environment is new and great. It’s located in Cebu City and has a good living function. So I chose MeRISE.

我選擇MeRISE是因為我的遊學代辦人員推薦，他提到MeRISE著重在「商用英語」教學，這正是我想學習的部分。此外，MeRISE的學習環境與硬體是全新且完善的，且地點位在宿霧市區，有良好的生活機能，所以我才選擇MeRISE語言學校。

MeRISE: How was your study in the Philippines? 你在菲律賓的學習過程如何？

Andrew: The teacher is very patient and always encourages me to practice, which makes me more motivated to learn English.

And according to personal interests to adjust the corresponding textbook arrangement course, the whole process of custom teaching mode is very good.

這邊的老師都非常有耐心，總是鼓勵我多練習，讓我有更多的動力學習英語。他們還會根據我的個人興趣去調整對應的教材，完全客製化的教學模式非常棒！

MeRISE: Have you studied English before? 你之前有學習過英語嗎？

Andrew: I learned English from elementary school. And then I keep studying it until senior high school. I have learned English for more than ten years.

However, I still wanted to find a place to improve my listening and speaking ability so I came to Philippine.

我從國小開始學英語，一直到高中都有持續學習，擁有超過十年的英語學習時間。但我仍然想找到一個能夠加強我的英語聽力和口說能力的環境，所以我來到了菲律賓學英語。

MeRISE: What has changed yourself compare to before? 來到MeRISE學習後，你覺得自己有什麼改變嗎？

Andrew: I used to speak English without good structure before. But since I came to MeRISE, I can speak English more organized and ask questions to foreigners. This is a big step forward for me.

我之前的英語口說比較沒有完整的架構，但自從來MeRISE學習後，我能夠更完整、有組織地用英語向外國人提問或對話，這對我來說是很大的進步。

MeRISE: Did you enjoy your weekends in Cebu? 你享受自己在宿霧的假日期間嗎？

Andrew: I enjoy the holiday of Cebu. I went to Moalboal to watch the sardine and the sea turtle. The experience of snorkling in the sea is very interesting.

I also joined Bohol Island to jump and enjoy the beautiful ocean of the Philippines.

I saw several cute tarsiers there. 

我很享受在宿霧的假期，我去過墨寶看沙丁魚和海龜，在海邊浮潛的經驗相當有趣。我也去了薄荷島並享受在那邊的美麗海洋，我還在那邊看到了幾隻可愛的眼鏡猴。

MeRISE: Do you think your English ability has already improved through this study abroad? 你認為在菲律賓遊學的經驗有讓自己的英語能力改善嗎？

Andrew: My English speaking ability has improved, and also my English listening ability.

我的英語口說能力有改善，以及我的英語聽力能力也有進步。

MeRISE: How do you keep your English competence in the future? 未來你打算如何維持自己的英語能力呢？

Andrew: After back to Taiwan, I will continue to learn English by interested in Western pop culture, like movie, music and TV show.

回到台灣後，我將持續透過自己感興趣的西方流行文化，例如電影、音樂、電視節目，來持續學習英語。

MeRISE: Do you have any plans after study abroad? 這趟國外遊學結束後，有任何計畫嗎？

Andrew: I will go back to Taiwan to study the Master degree. And I hope that during my vacation, I can travel abroad to use the English I have studied.

我會先回台灣念研究所，同時，我希望能夠在我未來的假期中，到國外旅遊，並在這段期間運用我所學習過的英語能力。

MeRISE: Finally, I would like you to leave a message to those who are going to study at MeRISE. 最後，請你對即將來到MeRISE遊學的同學說一些話吧！

Andrew: If you have the opportunity or time, you can spend more time at MeRISE, I believe that it is quite helpful for your English ability.
